Alexandra Rivas is a fifth-year student employee who is double majoring in Civil and Environmental Engineering and pursuing double minors in Sustainability in the Built Environment and Construction Management and Engineering. Alexandra worked for UC Davis Conference and Events Services before accepting a position in the Energy and Engineering Office as a Green Buildings intern in the fall of 2020.
Meet Thomas Patten, a second-year graduate student working on obtaining his Master of Science in Energy Systems. In his current position as a Graduate Student Researcher for Energy & Engineering, Thomas supports them on energy conservation projects.
Jedediah Whetstone is a fourth-year Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering major who is minoring in Technology Management while working at Fleet Services. Currently, his duties include cleaning vehicles' interiors and exteriors, refueling vehicles, picking up parts, and driving vehicles to and from dealerships for service.
Meet Sirarpi Hovhannisyan, a fourth year Cinema & Digital Media and Communications major who has worked in the Energy and Engineering Office as a communications intern for the past two and a half years. Her duties include learning about energy efficient programs on campus and finding innovative and creative ways to promote the projects and teach students about energy efficiency.
Meet senior Devin Cabillo, a Mathematics and Computer Science major. Devin has been working as a software engineering intern in the Energy and Engineering office since April 2019, and is currently working on a project with the University of California Office of the President (UCOP) Carbon Neutrality Initiative (CNI). He is developing a web-based app to track each UC campus’ historical energy use and progress toward carbon neutrality. Other projects that Devin has worked on are the UC Davis therMOOstat and the CEED campus energy project.
